Dear Ellington Families,


I hope your family is enjoying the Fall season and that it has been a great year for your children at school so far.  I am writing to share some information and guidance on Artificial Intelligence (AI).  I am sure you know that the AI field has exploded in recent years and is rapidly evolving.  Even simple searches using Google or other common search engines now generate very different responses than they did a year ago. AI has vast potential to assist educators and students, from planning to brainstorming, from organizing information to interacting as a tutor or character from history.  There are also uses that can substitute for student thinking or undermine learning experiences.  

Ellington schools has established a district committee to keep abreast of developments in AI and provide guidance.  We will continue working to leverage the benefits of AI and to address the challenges.  The guidance is available at the following links and is posted on the district website:
